Fort McMurray Christian School Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP)
Will your child be 3 years old before March 1, 2010? Are you looking for a program that provides a language rich, theme-based Christian environment where children learn through play?
Early Childhood Development Program is your answer!
The program operates Monday to Thursday, 2 1/2 hours per day in the afternoon. Fridays are set aside for parent conferences, home visits, ongoing training, and planning time. It is staffed by a certified Christian teacher with a B. Ed. specializing in early childhood development. Experienced Christian educational assistants knowledgeable in child development disabilities and intervention strategies are also part of the team.
How do I begin the registration process for my child for ECDP? The first step is to apply for enrollment into the FMCS Society. We ask that one parent be a professing Christian as outlined in the FMCS Education Vision Document. The next step in the registration process is to complete an ECDP application form. Upon completion of the application form, you will be called with an appointment date and location. A birth certificate or any legal document providing proof of age is required. How is the ECD Program Designed? The program is designed to build on each child’s, spiritual, social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development. Its aim is to fill or address developmental gaps, which may affect learning in kindergarten and higher grades. The faith based program offers a safe, warm and caring environment where children learn through play. Is there any cost for the ECD Program?A $50.00 fee is required once your child’s application has been approved. This is to help cover the cost classroom materials. Also the yearly Society membership fee ($100.00) and the registration fee ($50.00) for first time families at FMCS will be due.
