Monday's Memo on Tuesday Sept. 7

One week finished already!! This morning we welcomed our Kindergarten students and tomorrow 19 new ECDP students will fill our hearts and hallways at 1:00 p.m.

Mothers Who Care Prayer  T ime:
Ladies are you wondering what is the most powerful and effective  way to help the school? Are you available for one hour each week to dramatically enhance the school life at FMCS? Please plan on joining our dedicated group of prayer warriors this and every Wednesday evening at 175 Peterson Lane (the Champion's home facilitaed by Mrs. Champion) from 6:00-7:00.  "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:19-20

Hot Lunches for Grades 1-8
Pizza Tuesday: Jomaas Cheese $2.00/slice
Hot Dog Wednesday: $1.00 each
Hot Lunch Thursday: Preordered (on forms from last week) Turkey Sub
Milk, juice and bottled water also available on hot lunch days for .50 during the lunch hour.

School Bus Stop Arms
On August 16, 2010, an amendment to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo's Roads and Transportation Bylaw will allow for school busses to display flashing red lights and utilize stop arms in Fort McMurray. Motorists must STOP when the red lights are flashing whether you are approaching an oncoming bus or following one. Further info at http://www.woodbuffalo.ab.ca/residents/bylaw_services/schoolbus_bylaw.asp?subnav=1

Safeway Grocery Cards
Today is the first Tuesday of the month, a great day to purchase Safeway Cards at the school office. These cards are in $100.00 amounts, and are an easy fundraiser for your family and friends. (The school purchases them for $92.00 and makes a clear $8.00 profit on each one sold.) All you have to do is remember to bring cash or cheque and see Sheila in the office.

REMINDER:
First School Council Meeting of the year is set for Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 7:00 p.m. at the school. Please mark your calendars and plan on joining this newly formed group with a purpose of maximizing student learning with a specific focus on school improvement.
