Mrs. Jackman is our very busy Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) teacher and the Kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Jackman runs the ECDP program with 21 students Monday to Thursday afternoons and the Kindergarten program with 18 students Monday to Thursday mornings and every other Friday. She has been teaching at FMCS for four years now.
Mrs. Jackman was born in St. John's Newfoundland. She came to know the Lord at 6 years of age and has always had a deep love for the Lord, teaching and children. She has been married to the love of her life Ken for 5 year. Mrs. Jackman went to Memorial University where she first obtained a Psychology and Sociology double major. During that time she began working with children diagnosed with Autism. She discovered an intense passion for working with young children with special needs. She then obtained a bachelor of Education primary and elementary degree and from there started her teaching career at High Level Christian Academy for 2 years then moved to Fort McMurray.
The Jackman's have a very energetic and loveable golden doodle named Izzy. She loves to spend her very limited spare time quilting, crocheting and finding fun ways to integrate Bible into the Alberta curriculum. Mrs. Jackman's philosophy about teaching is kids learn best in a hands on learning environment where they can create their own learning experiences. She strongly supports differentiated instruction and a multiple intelligences style of teaching. Mrs. Jackman is very passionate about assisting children with attention difficulties and sensory needs in the classroom- "Feed the Need" is her motto.
Finally, she believes that a Christian education is paramount in growing children of God who are able to use discernment and who know why they believe what they believe. She is very excited about providing young children with learning experiences that teach them more about God, the world he created and developing a strong relationship with Jesus.
